Indexing Bloggers blogs in google

To index yours blogs in google or anyother search engines you need to Create sitemap which is really helpful for bloggers :) but due to the lack of knowledge or information many bloggers dont able to take the advantage of these features or if they know about these features they dont know how to use it :( ,If you are also one among such bloggers then its time to create a sitemap for yours blogs through below mention steps.

  • Login Google Sitemap accout with yours Gmail Id
  • At the top of screen you will see option to add site. Just paste URL of your blog (For example: http://scrapur.blogspot.com/) as seen in image below.

  • Now Click On Ok button, Next you will get confirmation message. Your site has been added to your account.
  • Now you need to verify your ownership of blog to view detailed statistics. Click on verify link. Generally google offers two methods of verification. You can either upload an HTML file with a name we specify (which is not possible with Google Blogger account), or you can add a META tag to your site’s index file. Adding META tag Through template code is possible so just select Add a META tag from drop down menu: as i have shown in image on right side.
  • After adding Metatag through Dropdown menu it will show you a Code As seen in image add that code in yours blogger template just after <HEAD> tag.(you will find HEAD tag at the top of the Template) Note - whenever you change the template you have to add this code in new template.


  • Now your site is added to sitemap account and verification is done. Next you need to add actual sitemap url. we have to add the complete sitemap. We’ll use the blog’s feed as a Sitemap, but to get the complete feed we have to use some addictional parameters.But Before adding Final sitemap do setting in blogger From Dashboard>>Move Setting>> Sitefeed>>> and Allow Blog Feed to Full and dont forget to put POST FEED REDIRECT URL :) After doing that follow below steps.
    1. Log into Google Webmaster Tools, enter your blog’s properties and select Add sitemap;
    2. Select “Add general web sitemap“;
    3. My sitemap url is: rss.xml?max-results=500&start-index=1
    4. Press “Add general web sitemap“. :)


    If you need more sitemaps, repeat the four steps, changing only the url; just add 500 to the last number of the previous sitemap’s url:

    1. rss.xml?max-results=500&start-index=501
    2. rss.xml?max-results=500&start-index=1001
    3. rss.xml?max-results=500&start-index=1501
    4. …and so on.

    Important: In Sitemap > Overview, the “URLs submitted” column will show effective number of articles submitted +1 (so, a Full sitemap will show 501 urls, not 500), because, in the feed, the URL of the home page is also retrieved. :)

    After all is over and you are Sucessfully done all the steps now you need to Ping yours sitemap regularly in order to index yours latest blog In Google search,Now i will hope above post will help you in creating sitemap for yours blogspot account :) if you are facing any problem then fell free to post yours problem in comment.
